Walking up the stairs at 7196 Main Street in Bonners Ferry and entering Picturesque you immediately understand that the environment is styled for ladies. Pink is the order of the day and chandeliers grace the newly renovated hallways and many of the rooms.

Meeting with owner Nissa Henslee and marketing director Jaycee Atkins you feel their excitement about making sure that any woman coming into Picturesque is going to feel welcome and pampered. Inside this elegant spa you are invited to partake of professional nail treatments, pedicures in state-of-the-art pedicure chairs, hair styling, facials, and a relaxing massage by a licensed therapist. All of the staff receives ongoing training on new products that become available so that clients will experience the latest and greatest.

“We are hoping to expand the market in Bonners Ferry as many travel to Coeur d’Alene or Spokane for a ‘spa’ experience. We can now provide those services here,” said Henslee.

Picturesque is definitely looking to capture the Canadian market as well from Creston and other areas just over the border. This is a high end salon geared towards enriching lives and creating outer beauty as well as sparking the understanding that beauty is from within. It became clear right away that everyone at Picturesque has the desire to fan the flames of beauty in all who come in the door.

“Every woman is beautiful in their own way,” says Nissa. “Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and ages. We want the ladies to ‘feel’ the beauty that is naturally in them.”

“We are hoping to make Bonners Ferry a ‘Destination Point’ for exclusive services and treatment.” Nissa went on to enlighten me that even the small, pillar-like, end tables at various stations around the salon were there for the ladies to put their belongings on. “We want to make the ladies feel so special.”

It’s all about having a place that makes women feel special. And this ‘feeling special’ according to Nissa “…starts with small things and then moves into other things in life… into overall wellness.” That is why you can find more than just treatments at Picturesque, they also offer several types of yoga, a private, ladies only, workout area and a photography studio.

The spa offers the full line of Kevin Murphy products for hair and beauty and they are the only spa in the area that carries this product. It is available for sale at the spa and it is a product that truly works. They also will have all of the new Essie nail polish line available as it comes out so you can always have the most current product.

Downstairs will eventually be an indoor marketplace that offers various vendors the ability to close a door and lock their private selling area. So it will be like having several shops under one roof.

For the month of December the special is a 30 minute photo shoot with any purchase of hair, nails or facial services. Each month watch for new and exciting specials in health and beauty. Picturesque is also selling branded tee shirts and all proceeds go to the Boundary County Victim Services organization.
