Sandpoint Nordic Club Learn to XC Ski Free Day - Jan 9th, 2016
The Sandpoint Nordic Club and Schweitzer Mountain Resort want YOU to learn how to cross-country ski! They have teamed up to offer free cross country skiing demos and lessons on specifically groomed beginner trails at “The Roundabout” on the road up to Schweitzer. Free rentals are available as well on a reservation basis, and free beginner Classic Skiing and Skate Skiing instruction will be offered. Free hot chocolate and snacks will be on hand to keep everyone warm and fueled up. Plus, there is a new third session this year for teens only. Reserve a spot on the “Striker” session for the teens only group!
DATE January 9th, 2016
LOCATION “The Roundabout” on Schweitzer Mountain Road (on the way to Schweitzer ski area) Drive up Schweitzer Mountain Road and park in the first lot at “The Roundabout” *There is NO bus service to the Roundabout!

RENTALS Contact the Schweitzer Ski and Ride Center to reserve your equipment! 208-255-3070 or lessons@schweitzer.com Provide height, weight, age, shoe size, contact info and session time for each person! 8:30am-9:15am - Fitting for Session 1*
9:30am-11am - Session 1 lessons and free skiing
11am-11:45am - Fitting for Session 2*
12pm-1:30pm - Session 2 lessons and free skiing
1:30pm-2:15pm - Fitting for Session 3* “Striker Session” 12-18 YRS OLD ONLY
2:30pm-3:45m - Session 3 “Striker Session” 12-18 YRS OLD ONLY lessons and skiing
*You must be on time for your fitting or your gear may be given to another participant!
LESSONS Free beginner lessons will take place along the trail. There will be Classic Skiing lessons and Skate Skiing lessons. Participants need to have equipment on before their lesson starts. If you have your own equipment you can join either session 1 or 2.
