Melody Vanhorn has been with Living Local 360 since December 2013 and has brought with her a passion for community and a multitude of talents. She is the media manager for our Idaho publications In addition to keeping our social media websites up to date with the latest stories and community events, Melody also designs websites for our clients and is a talented photographer.

 

Melody’s life is a busy one, but she would not have it any other way.  In addition to raising her two young sons and daughter, Melody also is taking classes at North Idaho College. Born and raised in Sagle, Idaho Melody has been involved in the Sandpoint community her entire life. She has volunteered for Sandpoint Little League and Sandpoint Junior Tackle, kept the stats and website for the Sandpoint High School football team during her four years at SHS, and participated in 4-H from the time she was 8 years old until she was 18.

 

“I tend to lend a hand wherever and whenever I can,” said Melody. “I like being involved in my children’s activities and am often called on by my family to help out in their activities around the community. I recently started participating in small community based fundraisers such as Jacey’s Race.”

 

Melody comes from a large family of brothers and loves spending time with all of them.  “Family means everything to me,” she said.

 

In what spare time Melody does have, she enjoys gardening, horseback riding, baking, sports, photography, reading, knitting and crafting.  

 

With the exception of the beautiful Sandpoint summers, it’s rare to see Melody out of the house without her boots and jeans.  “I’m a country bumpkin at heart,” said Melody, who although she is  allergic to virtually all animals, still owns many.  “I love getting dirty!!”

 

Melody is not afraid to tackle anything, as is evidenced by the fact she enrolled in Wilton’s cake course so she could create fun cakes for for family. “I love learning new things and am always willing to try something at least once,” said Melody. “I’m a complete nerd and am very proud of it!”

 

When it comes to her work at Like-Media, Melody said what she loves most about her job is the opportunity to interact with so many people and being able to put her creative talents to use.

 

And when asked about what her philosophy in life is, it is not surprising that she responded with her favorite quote…”Live Simply, Dream Big, Be Grateful, Give Love, Laugh Lots.”
