Demetris WoodStone Taverna
Elegant, edgy, inviting. By Patty Hutchens.
Classy. Excellent food, beer, music and décor. Fabulous staff. A perfect patio to enjoy the sun. These are just a few of the things being said about Demetris WoodStone Taverna in the heart of Edmonds located along the waterfront.
Since opening in late 2010, Demetris has been a favorite of many locals and visitors. With an extensive lunch, dinner, happy hour, and Saturday and Sunday brunch menu, there is certainly something for everyone.
Their vast selection of Tapas (small dishes to be shared) includes mouthwatering dishes such as baked feta, spicy garlic shrimp, baked artichoke bottoms, grilled octopus, pulled pork sliders, and chicken lettuce wraps. A favorite of many patrons are the flatbreads, which come prepared with a variety of ingredients such as brie, caramel apples and pecans, as well as bbq chicken, red onion and bacon.
The lunch menu also includes soups, salads and panini, while the dinner menu offers a variety of specialties including grass fed beef hamburger patties, sea scallops and lamb just to name a few.
But it is not just the food that keeps people coming back to Demetris WoodStone Taverna, it is the excellent customer service and the elegant, yet inviting, atmosphere. Offering a beautiful view of the water, guests enjoy a breathtaking view while dining on the outdoor deck. While dining or enjoying a cocktail indoors or out, you are treated to views of the ferries traveling to and from the islands. And for those chillier evenings when you still want to be outside, Demetris also provides patio heaters so you can still enjoy the outdoors well into the cooler months.
This unique, edgy restaurant also offers a late night lounge. And although it may be relatively new to Edmonds, the owners of Demetris have been in the business of providing quality food and service for many years. Sofeea Huffman opened the Kafe Neo in Edmonds in March 1991. Eight years later she opened a second Kafe Neo in Marysville. She quickly discovered her food was in high demand, which precipitated her expansion of her Edmonds based Kafe Neo to more than double the size of her original restaurant. With the addition of Executive Chef Clara Gutierrez in 2006, who is now Sofeea’s business partner, Kafe Neo has grown to include locations in Mill Creek Town Center. Today, the business partners now own and operate two full restaurants Tablas WoodStone Taverna in Mill Creek Town Center and Demetris WoodStone Taverna here in Edmonds.
If you have not visited Demetris WoodStone Taverna, be sure you do soon. It may just turn out to be your new favorite restaurant.
