Memories. We spend a lot of time trying to preserve them. But as technology evolves exponentially, it becomes more difficult. In the past there were many choices when it came to finding a service to transfer your films and videos to DVD, but many of those places have closed.

Fortunately, Towey Productions, owned by Dan Towey, remains in business and can help you hold onto those precious memories. Serving Edmonds and the surrounding Seattle area, Dan’s background is in broadcasting and broadcast engineering. After deregulation in the broadcasting industry some 25 years ago, Dan began transferring photos, slides, videos, and old films onto DVD for families, making them easy to view. Dan also produces CD and DVD keepsake products with personalized text or even a photo on the disc.

“I meet a lot of great people,” said Dan of his work both past and present. He was a communications major at Washington State University and went on to work at Channel 7 as the executive producer for Wayne Cody and Steve Rable. Dan also helped launch KZOK onto the air in Seattle where he performed demographic research. Before starting his own business, Dan worked for ten years with Seattle radio legend Pat O’Day, as a DJ and music director.

Admittedly, it can be a bit scary turning over your memories to someone. But Dan is not a large warehouse where the possibilities of loss or damage are great. He works with his customers one on one. Dan uses the most advanced technology to transfer your decades full of memories. He values the importance of family images, and he takes photo and slide restoration and digitization very seriously.

When it comes to 35-millimeter slides, Dan uses a top-of-the-line Nikon scanner, a glass free product that provides distortion-free images. He uses a multi-step process to restore images. This results in the highest-grade image that includes color correction and is free of pixelation issues. For all still images, Dan scans his materials between two and six megabytes and this results in the highest quality image that is technologically possible. Dan can digitize and preserve all of your family photos, slides, videos, and even music of all formats.

In addition to preserving memories of your past, Dan is also ready to videotape and produce a professionally finished film that documents those magical moments that occur once or twice in a lifetime. His video production services include weddings, receptions, special presentations, short commercials, graduations, celebrations of life, and so much more. Dan can bring your still photos to life by creating a multi-media DVD product. After photos are scanned, an audio track containing voice and music can be added, and finally, Dan can visually pan or zoom over the images so that it comes to life.

Dan takes customer service seriously and makes every effort to earn his client’s trust. Whenever he begins a project, he works in his studio, right across the desk from customers. At that point he gathers all of the details and provides examples of his prior work. Dan also prides himself on being able to get projects back to clients in a very short time. Many times he is able to turn around a project in only two to three days, or less depending on circumstance.

Dan welcomes you to visit his website and learn more about the services he has to offer you and your family. Dan welcomes your phone call at: 253.906.8395.
