Coffee, tea and a whole lot more! By Patty Hutchens.
Whether you crave a freshly brewed cup of coffee, a delicious pastry, or a warm cup of soup, a stop at Café Louvre on 5th Avenue in Edmonds is sure to please you.
The full service café offers Umbria Coffee, a delicious coffee roasted right here in the Pacific Northwest and a favorite of many coffee connoisseurs. But it is more than just coffee and tea that is served at Café Louvre; they have freshly made wraps, soups, salads, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches. And if you are looking for some of that scrumptious Kelly Cannoli that so many Edmonds residents crave, look no further than Café Louvre.
“In this world of corporate caffeine giants, this unique cafe knows how to personalize your experience AND your coffee,” wrote one guest. And it’s not just the food and drinks that have received rave reviews, but the staff has as well.
The owner, Haifa Alhussieni, moved from Sacramento to Edmonds five years ago, a move precipitated by her husband’s job. With a background in interior design, Haifa decided it was time to branch out and try a new venture with the support of her husband Nabil Alhussieui. Nabil, who has his MBA from Cal State, is no stranger to the business world and is experienced in business management.
Together, they decided to open Café Louvre just two years ago. Haifa has formed a close relationship with her customers who love interacting with her and her staff. Haifa’s friendly nature is something the patrons all look forward to on their visits. And it is those customers to whom Haifa attributes her success. By hiring the right people and listening to her customers’ suggestions, they all have helped make Café Louvre become what it is today. "Even if I’m the best business person, with no support, I would fail," said Haifa gratefully. Café Louvre has a fun and relaxing environment and also offers meeting space for people to gather for lunch meetings or after hours as well. It simply requires a reservation.
Haifa and her husband have two children, a boy and a girl, who attend Edmonds Woodway High School. As a family they enjoy hiking, traveling and taking in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Wishing to give back to the community, Haifa enjoys hosting events at Café Louvre including hosting high school students for events and hosting book readings and signings.
Stop in at Café Louvre for coffee, conversation, and more!
