"The Moments of Silence" Exhibition

In February Gallery North features “The Moments of Silence”, an exhibit of painterly photography and oil paintings by award-winning artist, Wei Chen. For Wei, photography is a way to connect with the past and the future and record a state of mind. Many of Wei’s works are inspired by the beach in Edmonds. She has spent countless evenings on the beach waiting for the right moment—when the elements of ocean and sky afterglow all come together. Growing up in China, Wei moved to the United States 15 years ago, and currently resides in Seattle, Washington. She holds a MS in Computer Science from the University of Arizona. Although working as a professional Software Architect, Wei Chen’s passion for art has helped her to become internationally known for her painterly photography. In addition to her photographic work, Wei explores the medium of oil painting in this exhibit with abstract and seascape paintings. Meet the artist and enjoy refreshments at the opening reception for “The Moments of Silence,” held February 6th from 1pm to 4pm at Gallery North. The artist will also be present at Gallery North during the Edmonds Art Walk on February 18th from 5-8pm. There will be a drawing for a free print of the artist’s work at 3pm on Saturday the 6th and another at 7pm on Thursday the 18th. This exhibit will be open to the public through February 29th.
