Mystical Reality Exhibit and Medallic Sculpture Show
Gallery North announces the opening of two special exhibits in April. Mystical Reality features the photography and painting of partners Jeff and Jurate Harrison. Also at Gallery North this month is the American Medallic Sculpture Association-Members Show, featuring the work of medallic artists from throughout the United States and other countries. Mystical Reality celebrates the work of artists and partners Jeff and Jurate Harrison. Jeff Harrison, longtime Northwest photographer, captures the magic of moments often missed in the hurry of everyday life. Jeff studied with Ansel Adams at his Yosemite Workshops and has been influenced by the work of Morley Baer, Henry Gilpin and Jerry Uelsmann. Jurate Harrison, an award-winning painter, uses acrylic and mixed media to convey a sense of dream worlds. In her work, “reality mixes together like bands of different colored smoke”. Jurate received her degree in Art Education at De Paul University after having studied at the Otis Parsons Art Institute in Los Angeles. Also this month, Gallery North is pleased to host the American Medallic Sculpture Association-Members Show. The exhibit at Gallery North includes 16 artists participating from 11 states across the country and from Australia and Canada. The AMSA exhibit at Gallery North features 55 medals on display, ranging from 2 to 6 inches across. Each one is a unique work of sculptural art. You are invited to meet the artists and enjoy refreshments at the Artists’ Reception for both the Mystical Reality exhibit and the American Medallic Sculpture Association-Members Show on Saturday, April 9 from 1-4pm. Gallery North will hold another reception during the Edmonds Art Walk on April 21st from 5-8pm. Both exhibits are open to the public through April 30th.
