With Spring Comes Popular Downtown Events

It seems spring has been here since about January, but the true segue into summer is approaching, with popular annual events coming again to downtown Coeur d’Alene.

Artwalk is back again this year. It is held the second Friday of each month, beginning Friday, April 10. From 5pm to 8pm you can stroll the downtown sidewalks and drop into the downtown galleries to check out the work of our talented local artists. There is no admission cost and many galleries will be offering free snacks and drinks. A few local restaurants also offer discounted food and drinks during these events.

Artwalk is put on by the Coeur d’Alene Arts and Culture Alliance whose mission is to educate alliance members, the community and visitors about the arts and cultural activities available in our community. It also assists artists and art entities to be successful. You can learn more about Artwalk by visiting www.artsincda.org or stopping by the Coeur d’Alene Chamber and Visitor Center downtown.

Also just around the corner are the ever popular Kootenai County Farmers’ Markets. Farmers from all over the region bring in fresh produce, flowers and meat. There are also crafts for sale and entertainment is provided.

The Farmers’ Market offers two convenient locations. The downtown Coeur d’Alene Market runs Wednesdays from May through September from 4pm to 7pm at 5th and Sherman Avenue. The Hayden Farmers’ Market also runs May to September and is open on Saturdays from 9am to 1:30pm and located at the corner of Highway 95 and Prairie Avenue. Markets are set to open on the 13th and 16th of May.
