Coeur d'Alene Events Ellingson Show

Spokane artist Larry Ellingson will display his artwork at the “Force of Attraction” exhibit in the Boswell Hall Corner Gallery at North Idaho College from Sept. 29 to Nov. 6.

Ellingson will host a gallery walk of his work at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, followed by a panel conversation at 1 p.m. in the Edminster Student Union Building Echo Bay Room, and the opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Boswell Hall Corner Gallery.

“It’s fun to make stuff that's interesting to look at. Finding new ways of seeing the commonplace seems like a good idea to me. Many of us daydream and wander through our imaginations. I bring back souvenirs,” said Ellingson in an artist statement.

After designing and producing silk-screened products in the 1970s, Ellingson spent 28 years as owner and manager at Inland Audio Visual in Spokane. He wrote scripts, composed music, designed sound and art-directed to produce multi-projector slide shows. After a 30-year hiatus, he started to make art again in 2003. Becoming a full-time artist after retiring from Inland AV in 2011, Ellingson has shown at art shows and galleries around Spokane and Coeur d'Alene.

The Corner Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2:30pm. Friday. Admission to the gallery is free.

Information: (208) 769-3427.
