The North Idaho College Theatre Department presents “Godspell” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22-24, Oct. 29-31, Nov. 1; and 2 p.m. Oct. 25 in NIC’s Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center on NIC’s main campus. “Godspell” was created by John-Michael Tebelak with music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.
“Godspell” is an exuberant musical loosely based on the Gospels from the New Testament, featuring the hit song “Day by Day.” It is the first major musical written by Stephen Schwarts, the composer of such shows as “Pippin” and “Wicked.” It focuses on friendship, loyalty, and love as a community is created and begins to grow.
“’Godspell’ is one of the most beloved of modern musicals and should not be missed,” said play director Joe Jacoby.
The musical direction is by Max Mendez with choreography by Crystal Bain.
The play is free and open to the public.
