Theatre and storytelling often revolves around a protagonist: a character who goes through struggles and adversity but ultimately comes out on top in the end. We see this perspective over and over again in movies, books and on stage, but what about the other side, the characters who are trying to stop our hero from achieving their goals? You can see the world from their eyes in a special engagement from Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre which presents, “Bad Boys of Broadway.” The one-night only show will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at the Eagles Lodge in downtown Coeur d’Alene.
“We want it to be something that feels like a full performance without any sense of overt formality for the audience. We want people to relax, laugh their faces off, and have a wonderful time,” said Artistic Director Jadd Davis.
The show will consist of seven singers and actors accompanied by pianist Mary Trotter. You’ll see and hear some of your favorite villains from both screen and stage in this one of a kind performance. As “Bad Boys of Broadway” is being held at the Eagles Club, guests will also have access to the bar for this show. Limited tickets are available through Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre for this one-time event. You can purchase at the box office or through the CDA Summer Theatre website. “It's wonderful to indulge in our dark side a bit. It's no secret that villains are the most fun characters to play,” Davis said.
Are villains truly evil or just misunderstood? Your perspective might change after the show. Take a night out and celebrate the antagonists who make our heroes look so good. It promises to be a night you won’t soon forget!
